In fact, we have two of them: one running at the Lehigh Valley Hospital’s
Cedar Crest campus and the other on the Air Products campus, both located in Lehigh Valley, Pa.
Our hydrogen buses may look like regular buses, but inside is a state-of-the-art internal combustion engine modified to run on hydrogen instead of gasoline. It's a Ford 6.8-liter Triton™ V-10.
The big difference: the hydrogen-powered engines deliver up to a 99.7 percent reduction in CO2 emissions, so unlike other buses you see on the roads with black, polluting exhaust, our buses emit water.
The hydrogen fuel tank holds an equivalent of 26 gallons, and the buses have a range of up to 150 miles. We didn't invent time travel, but when you hop on one of these buses, you're definitely headed to the future.
